Placement Recommendations:
This class is open to all students at Central High School. Student must be in 11th or 12th grade and/or at least 16 years old. It is also recommended that the student have completed ROP Medical Careers.

Course Description:
Nursing Services provides the student with specific skills to obtain employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), patient care provider, handicapped children's aide, or other nursing-related entry level opportunities. Following successful completion of the required core curriculum, the student is eligible to test for the state certification as a Nursing Assistant. Course content includes the California Department of Health Services requirements for nursing assistant certification. The required clinical component (100 hours) will take place at an off-campus facility and is typically scheduled during winter break, spring break, and several weekends.

Class Advisors

All ROP teachers are required to maintain a list of advisors. These advisors are community members that work in fields related to their class, and help to advise them of current trends in the industry.
